Cha ừ, rồi 1 chút hoài niệm nào là phải đi gánh nước ở nhà bà X về dùng, sau này mới có giếng,… sau đó con gái không nghe rõ gì nữa.
Tự dưng ngồi nhai đậu tây mà thấy nó ngon gì đâu, thấy may mắn gì đâu. 🌱

🌿 Father & Daughter — one meal & two generations.
One morning at the end of March, a father and daughter were sitting together having breakfast. That morning, father cooked rice mixed with sweet potatoes, with a little boiled green beans that he grew himself.
While scooping the rice, father quietly reminiscing said:
“Back then around this time, we only ate sweet potatoes, dried sweet potatoes. There was no rice to eat.”
The daughter asked:
“Back then this season was near harvest time, the end of the previous crop, so there wasn’t any rice left yet, dad?”
Father nodded, then drifted into a little nostalgia — about having to carry water home from Mrs. X’s house to use, and only later did the family have a well… after that, the daughter didn’t really hear clearly anymore.
Somehow, just sitting there chewing green beans, they suddenly tasted unbelievably good. And somehow, daughter suddenly felt unbelievably lucky. 🌱
Daughter was born in peacetime. Life now is also more abundant, food is plentiful, and sometimes while eating, she doesn’t even pay attention and just chews mindlessly.
That morning while showering, somehow “daughter” showered much more “properly” than usual.
She no longer had to carefully count every scoop of water like in her father’s time, but she quietly reminded herself to consume more consciously, more just-enough.
A morning with Father, was gentle like that. 💛
